What is the deal with .sit?

Okay so if you're having problems opening/downloading your software, see if it's a .sit file that's trying to be downloaded/opened. Stuffit is just riddled with bugs and nasty undesired effects. As a work-around, we are providing all of our software as a zipped archive or a disk image:
