I would like to see what your Dashboard looks like...
I personally integrate my dashboard to my wallpaper. I like it clean Wink

First, here you can see my Desktop without the dashboard:
KLICK

And here with activated dashboard:
KLICK

Now it's your turn.
Are you a clean perfectionist, or do you work in a messy environment ?
Or, even possible - don't you use the dashboard at all ?

greetings

Yeah, thanks! It is DragThing. I only show OPEN apps in my Dock and then have all of my frequently used ones in the tabs of DragThing. The grid works nicely. And yes I love that iTunes alarm. Use it all the time.

Very clean, I like it! Cute icons too, those are a must. Hey! I see TimeNet and Master of my Domain in your Dock. How cool! Smiley

Erika is the first person I see who has this tiger-puzzle-widget on the dashboard and who DOESN'T have the system preferences in the dock Wink

But anyway..very cute, clean and happy setup Smiley

And btw...
I wondered where I knew that picture from Perry's Desktop from. So I tried and tried to remember...
And finally landed on the site of a dj-chat-buddy of mine from austria...
Now what do you think ?

Similar effect style, totally. I really like the sketched out effect. I'll be posting other pics of my other computers, though they're pretty similar. I've got the dual G4 1GHz with the 23" screen, the 15" PowerBook G4, and I just sold my 17" eMac and am about to order a 20" iMac G5. Excited!

As clean as my desktop is, my dashboard is a mess. I dump handy widgets everywhere and since I have a 12" Powerbook, they tend to overlap. As you will notice, I also auto-hide the dock for the same reason. I love the 12" portability, but am aware of the screen real estate, or the lack of it. Still, I wouldn't trade it for any other notebook, 15" and 17" Powerbooks included. A bit off-topic, but it is amazing how people really notice the Powerbook. Everyone and their dog has a notebook these days, but the Powerbooks really draw attention!  Cool

I love the style of the 12" as well. For me the 15" is the perfect marriage of portability and screen size. ESPECIALLY when I get the new HD one with higher resolution. Here's hoping I can afford that sucker next week! I'll be posting pics if I get it, that's for damn sure.

Nice desktop and great use of the limited screen size. Gotta take it where you can get it. I think the Dashboard is one hell of an idea. I'm sure you love having those things when you need them, but not always floating around. With the small screen, Dashboard really shines.

Love the spotlight on TimeNet in your dock in the first pic, by the way. That'll get you some Karma. Wink

I see you have that level widget, also. It uses the PowerBook's motion sensor technology to create a virtual level. Does that thing really actually work well? I'd love to see it in action sometime.

It does work. It's not as accurate as a real one, but I won't be using the Powerbook for DIY any time soon. You can actually see it working. It isn't perfectly in the middle, as the PB was on my lap.

Here is hoping you'll be able to see it in action next week!  Cool

Oh, and thanks for the Karma!  Cheesy

Well I've got ONE bid on my PowerBook anyway. I hope it goes for more than $500.. I bought this thing used 3 months ago for $1200. And it didn't even come with the power adapter, let alone the bundled software I'm including (on disc, don't worry), the RAM upgrade I installed, and the cables I'm throwing in.  Sad

6+ days to go. Bidding is always slow to begin with. The fact that you already have a bid is a good sign.

Three months? You go through computers like I socks! Sort of, I actually don't wear my socks three months straight. Still, I bought mine new in February, just after the update. So, nine months already!  Smiley As I said, wouldn't trade it for anything...

Well I had my old 867MHz G4, trusty old boy. Had that for two years, then the screen/video card/something or other (hey, I'm a software guy not a hardware guy...) fried out on it, so I got this one. Now I've decided that it's time for something new, which is what I should've done to begin with, I just didn't have the money. Now I think how I spent $1200 on this and just a few hundred more would've got me a brand new puppy. BUT then Apple just came out with the HD series, and that, with the new surround sound audio and other new capabilities, was enough to drive me over the edge: I want that thing. Wink

Then all I'll need is the 23" screen. I've gotten FAR to used to having it since borrowing this one.

That reminds me. This is a 1st (or 2nd, not sure) generation 23" HD cinema display. It's not the aluminum but the old design (with the pin stripes). Will this thing work on the new HD PowerBooks? I know it doesn't work on my 1GHz (at least not without a $100 converter.. ouch). Any ideas?

I agree, gotta love the 23". I am currently dreaming of the Quad and a 23", would do wonders for the HD editing.

I think you're out of luck on the old 23" The current Powerbooks are DVI (and VGA with an adapter). Three things you can do, buy the freaking $100 adapter, save up for the alu23 or get the more reasonably priced 20".

Now that you mention it, this thing may just be a 20". Not sure. I'll have to dig out the tape measurer. The max resolution is 1600x1024. Either way, it's BIG, and it's NICE. Do the aluminum ones work out of the box?

Man, $799 is steep.. maybe I could look on eBay. I'm weary of that place ever since purchasing my *first* PowerBook on there. Wired $2000 and waited and waited and waited. Never came. MAN that wasn't fun.

$800 could buy the keyboard I want.. gah, I really need one. I am so obsessed with piano it's not even funny. I have to go to the hotels down town and play in the lobby. What a sad sad case...

I'll just have to set my priorities. :p

Perry I think you need to get the laptop and the keyboard, save for awhile and then get the big screen. Poor starving college student. Setup a "Perry's New Laptop" donation account and I'll donate a few bucks!! Cheesy
