Hi Perry, I hope that you're well.

I have just had a case of the disappearing data too! My Powerbook crashed with Timenet open - when I reopened it again it acted like it was a first install, prompting with the tips dialogue. It seems to see some of my work as it's asking me about overdue invoices and whether I wanted to process them, but nothing else is there. How do I get around this ASAP please? Thanks, Jonathan

Jonathan,

The best step for this is to go to your TimeNet Data folder. It's located here:

~/Library/Preferences/TimeNet Data

Inside this folder is a timesheets folder. Inside that folder are folders with the names of your clients. If you see all of your client names in this folder, then proceed to the next step. If not, then I'm afraid all of your data somehow was lost, however this is not usually the case.

The next step is to re-add all of your clients into the software. It is important to spell them EXACTLY the same as they were before. Now, once you add all of your clients back into the software, they should appear in the main window as they did before, and when you click on each client all of their projects should still be listed underneath as before.

Let me know if this works for you. Thanks!

Thanks for that Perry. It has worked - but I lost all my client data, as well as all of my charging data. To be honest - a right pain in the arse to try and recover back to a working state. How can I back up all my charging data, client details etc? Thanks, Jonathan

It sounds like whatever data corruption that happened took out this section of the data. I don't know of any way to recover it unless you have a backup of your Data folder. I would highly recommend making it a routine to backup important data on your computer once a week.
