Man I would love to have a booth at the Expo... no way I could afford that though. Not yet anyway. Maybe you'll see us outside handing out flyers though.

They have those mini mini mini booths - don't know how much they are but for some folk it's obviously worth it! Plus there's the fun of meeting everyone and having a few beers after hours

3.3 UPDATE
I've currently finished about 3/4 of the things on my to-do list for 3.3. Expect the release sometime tomorrow in early-afternoon (11am-1pm) PST. This update is going to be very nice, I think a lot of you are gonna love it.
Also, around the same time as this update, look for some details leaked about two upcoming projects that will be done very soon. This is some exciting stuff!
I'm looking forward to seeing all of you back on the boards tomorrow and getting some feedback. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving (or if you don't celebrate it, a wonderful week in general).
More to come soon!

Take your time. You wouldn't want some silly bugs in there cuz you wanted to gain a couple of hours. Besides, Monday is no day for a release, is it?

Apparently you're right; looks like this will have to be pushed back until tomorrow (or at least much later tonight). Ran into a few snags. It'll be worth the wait though, I promise. Just have to make sure everything is good to go. Sorry guys!

Perry... no apologies necessary.. we'll get it when it's ready and not sooner... Now get some sleep. I'm sure everyone will survive without 3.3 until it pops out of the toaster

This employee reporting feature is turning out to be a little tricker than I though. It'll get done, no worries. Just taking some time. Also, there are literally about 30 new features or enhancements/bug fixes in this update. I'm working as fast as I can but it's just taking longer than I had hoped. At this rate, the update should be available tomorrow mid-afternoon. I'm gonna pull another all-nighter to see what I can do. I apologize if this delay has inconvenienced anyone.
This is exactly why I need an office and 10 minions working under me. Maybe one day when I make my millions... :p

I'll work for you if I get to use he 23" and if you can ignore the fact that I know absolutely nothing about programming...

Well I'll let you work for me and use the 23" if you accept payment in Monopoly money and peanuts. I've got an abundance of both. Oh and Top Ramen, too. And even a few beers.
I'll take a pic of my setup once I get the release out here in a couple of hours. I figure it's time I showed the world the AppleSource Headquarters (yeah, don't expect too much.. :p )

Beer and peanuts. Who could refuse that? Well, I'm truly sorry for the delay in this, guys. Here's the spec sheet on this update, so you can see why it's taken so long. It looks like it's still gonna be another day, so I'm hoping tomorrow early afternoon. I really appreciate your patience and support through this. 3.3 is almost done! Thank god... TimeNet 3.3 Release Notes
New Features: -- - Purchase Orders for projects - New <invoice-date> tag for invoice templates, puts today's date in so it shows when the invoice was generated - Date format (MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY) selectable - Employees. Keep track of multiple employees, assign specific tasks to specific employees. Get reports on Employee time spent, project involvement, net worth (money/hour) - Categories and Flat Fee items now store their value internally so if you have a project where you charged $40/hour for Video Editing, changing that rate later to $50/hour will not effect previous project earnings - Added feature to sync projects with different rates to your current rates so you can change past bills to reflect the new totals if you'd like - Flat Fee items now can store notes - Cancel button in New/Edit Task window - Cancel button in New/Edit Flat Fee window - Auto-formatting of phone numbers entered - Adding/editing clients now syncs with Company entries in the MacOS X Address Books, not just Last, First name - QuickSearch global find with Spotlight-style technology. Enter in a task name, notes, invoice number, or any other text in a project to find it instantly - Option for global invoice numbering (all clients share one sequential invoice numbering system) - Contextual menu items added for Tasks listbox in Project window - Contextual menu items added for Expenses listbox in Project window - Contextual menu items added for To Do listbox in Main window
Bug Fixes: -- - European characters now show up correctly on invoices - List columns now sort correctly (dollar amounts, dates, decimals, etc) - Invoices now correctly place preceding zeros (i.e. "001" is now shown as "001" instead of "1")
There could be more by tomorrow, but as of right now, that's where 3.3 sits.

Hey Perry...
Your hard work appreciated.
Just a thought. With all theses changes / updates, have you thought of designating as a beta release until any bugs have been shaken out?
Wouldn't want any new users to think that you're not as great a developer as you are!
Cheers, looking forward to getting my teeth into the new features.
best

I've just GOT to add my kudos here. I played with a demo of TimeNet for about 2 weeks before deciding to purchase it, all the while posting to these boards my requests and concerns. Perry has come through time and again with prompt responses and answers to my, and others', questions. There is no better service from any programmer out there, from my experience.
Keep up the great work, Perry, and although it's a bit like waiting for Christmas morning when I was 5, I can wait another day. :notworthy:

Thank you guys, I really appreciate it. I'd like to have all of the bugs ironed out for the release, one of the reasons I'm trying to polish this as best I can. Sometimes I do release betas, but it's rare. I'm pretty sure that this release will be (as close to) bug free (as humanly possible). Progress is coming along really good this morning. There's four inches of snow outside and I'm sitting here by the fire programming. Nowhere else I'd rather be.

Okay guys, it's done. Putting it online now. So sorry for all of the delays, but I hope this turns out to be a really great update.
NOTE The first time you run the update, it may ask you to Sync your rates: this is normal. Just tell it to do so. This is one of the new features, remembering the old values of your charge rates so they don't change old projects when you modify your rates.
Let me know if you have any problems with this update. Always a good idea to backup your data folder ~/Library/Preferences/TimeNet Data before running an update, but I'm 99% certain that this update is pretty much bug free.
I'm counting on the forum regulars to give me feedback. Thanks again for ALL of your support, and happy holidays everyone!
